Cook County Digital Equity Action Plan

October 2023

Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle and Digital Equity Director Kyla Tate Williams sought an innovative, action-oriented Digital Equity Action Plan to ensure all Cook County residents have equitable access to the digital infrastructure, devices, and tools needed to thrive in today's economy. The resulting strategic framework invites residents, businesses, and community organizations to collaboratively build solutions across digital accessibility, confidence, safety and security, and infrastructure. As a public-facing document designed for community engagement meetings, the Plan prioritizes clarity, accessibility, and usefulness, ensuring residents from all backgrounds can understand the County's digital equity goals and see themselves as active participants in achieving them. Translated into Spanish to reflect the County's diverse communities, the Plan serves as a blueprint for a holistic and inclusive digital equity ecosystem, driving collaborative efforts with key stakeholders countywide.
